Taking Time to Relax and Enjoy

Congratulations! You’re engaged! Now comes all the planning for one of the most unforgettable days of your life. This can seem overwhelming and stressful for some brides-to-be. Taking the time to relax and enjoy may seem impossible. Here are a few things that you can do while planning your wedding that can make it fun and ensure that you are taking care of yourself during this hectic time.

1. Plan a date night where you can discuss as a couple what is most important for you on your day. Then set aside a time once a week where you can go through options and make to-do lists. Getting most of the planning out of the way ahead of time allows you to relax and enjoy the last few weeks leading up to the big day!

2. Plan day trips out with friends, do non-weddings related things to get your mind off all the planning. It is always good to take a break now that then from wedding preparations to enjoy a day out with friends.

3. Get others involved, delegate some of the planning responsibilities to others you trust that are willing to help out. Including close friends and family in the wedding preparations allows them to feel more involved in your special day and it will also relieve some of the stress from you.

4. Lastly, get advice from other married couples that can give you some perspective of what to expect. This will give you insight of what is most important and what you can do without. Especially if you are trying to stay within a budget and are looking for things you can eliminate.

We all want our wedding day to be memorable. When we look back at all the things that made it special we don’t want the stress of all the planning to get in the way. Instead, enjoy the ride and plan without the stress by including others and getting as much planning done as early as possible so you can take time to relax and enjoy!
